Controlled Substances and Mandatory ePrescribing in Washington State
As of January 1, 2022, Washington State Law requires ePrescribing for controlled substances, Schedules II-IV. Stay on top of the ePrescribing mandate and:

In 2019, Washington State law required that pharmacists and prescribers register with Washington’s PMP. The law requires facilities, entities, offices, or provider groups with ten or more prescribers, be able to demonstrate that their EHR systems can fully integrate with the PMP database to accelerate and facilitate its usage.

Texas Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) and iCoreRx
In 2020, Texas law required that pharmacists and prescribers check a patient’s PMP history through Texas PMP AWARxE before dispensing or prescribing controlled substances including: opioids, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or carisoprodol.
